The “Stars in Alentejo” program brings together two neighbours: the restaurant Herdade do Esporão, which has a star in the Michelin Guide (and also a green star, a prize awarded by the same guide to spaces that excel in sustainability), and the award-winning hotel and ‘monte alentejano’ São Lourenço do Barrocal. While in Esporão the “stars” are served on a plate, in Barrocal they are showcased through a powerful telescope in a private session of astral observation.
The lunch in Herdade do Esporão is a seven-course tasting menu with seasonal produce and traditional Alentejo influences that's served with a premium wine pairing. After the meal, you'll have one of Barrocal's Farm Rooms waiting as well as the team from Dark Sky Alqueva observatory, who will set up their powerful telescope and take you on an exclusive guided tour of the never-ending stars and galaxies.
