This weekend opened the official Summer season (at least ours anyway!) and we made our first big picnic. The perfect tree shade was calling right by the lake shore and friends gathered to talk, laugh and teach the kids how to spot tiny frogs and crickets.

There was artisanal bread from Alentejo, meat patties, seasonal fruit, lots of tasty leafy salads and home baked cakes. Delicious food among the wild flowers and the birds chirping.

We also made a splash for the first time in our outdoor pool. Everything is getting ready to welcome the Summer sun!
