Monsaraz guided tour

Let yourself be taken on a guided tour of the medieval village of Monsaraz, where our historian will let you know the heritage left by the various communities that have lived here through their symbolism. In addition to the Castle and the Parish Church, the visit also includes the Fresco Museum and the House of Inquisition. From the top of the fortification, you will see the great lake Alqueva and discover the secrets of the frontier lands, with Spain lurking on the horizon.

Guided walk through
Monsaraz & surroundings

Opt for a 15 km guided walk, easy and circular. Starting at our estate, it will unfold along our trails, then ascending through medieval paths to Monsaraz. When visiting the village, you will discover its monuments, cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses, as well as some of the secrets of the frontier lands. Descending from the fortification’s main entrance towards the surrounding villages, you will discover temples of the Megalithic era, but also of Islam and Christianity, a Templar hermitage and the medieval gallows. On the way back, observe the centenary olive groves and the fields of Alentejo.
